Princess Cruises came from the name of the first vessel
first chartered from Canada in 1965 – the Princess
Patricia owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Their daily magazine, Princess Patter is also named in reference to Patricia.
Spent the morning looking around the shopping specials and I
went to the ‘Emerald Passion’ presentation with James from Provenance
Gems. He gave an in-depth talk about the
history of emeralds, where they were found and who wore them and why, the main
locations of emerald mines currently and their famous owners throughout
history. In the afternoon, David and I
went back to the store to have a look at some of his jewellery for sale. Other new jewels being showcased on this
cruise include tanzanite, zultanite, ammolite and El Arco de Amor…
Headed off for a swim in the Lotus Spa pool which is my
favourite area because the roof is enclosed.
Later, we went to the Lido deck to have some fresh pizza, margaritas and
listen to the ‘Stevie Wonder: Live at Last’ concert!
After yet another fantastic meal in the Bordeaux Room, we
ventured to the Princess Theatre to see a comic named ‘Steve Moris’. What a hoot!
We laughed so much we almost cried!
So impressed we were, that we purchased his DVD to take home and enjoy
again at another time! ‘I see a yellow
bird’….
